Youth Center - Holloman AFB, New Mexico
Holloman AFB active youth center programs required extensive upgrades to the existing on base youth center to maintain a safe, healthy and engaging environment for after school, camp, and summer activities. Upgrades to the facility’s architectural finishes, included: cabinetry, flooring, painting, ceilings, doors, window shades and signages. Building system upgrades included fire alarm, electrical, lighting, plumbing and HVAC. Specific features included upgrading the kitchen/cooking area for youth, refurbishment of gym flooring and basketball backstops.
Construction features included, motorized solar screens on exterior walls were replaced with fire retardant back-out motorized, window shades with panel tracks to reflect light and heat from the sun. New fire rated doors with fire rated door and side light glazing with fire rated frames were provided to upgrade the space and comply with life safety codes. New cabinetry and lockers were provided to youth areas to increase functionality and durability of the space. Building system upgrades included HVAC replacement, lighting replacement, fire sprinkler system updates and new fire alarm and mass notification system.
